Description: Base Maintenance Manager

Reports
To: Director, Maintenance
Job Summary: Responsible
for the daily control and coordination of all aircraft maintenance at his/her
assigned base. He will evaluate and monitor current maintenance process
to ensure personnel equipment and facilities operate in a safe and efficient manner.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible
for daily control and coordination of all aircraft maintenance actions during
the course of normal operations to include, but not limited to; posting of personnel
schedules, line maintenance functions (at that base), coordination with maintenance
control, the maintenance planner, and the safety department.
- Evaluate
and monitor current maintenance process to ensure personnel equipment and facilities
operate in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure effective communication
between all levels of personnel.
- Supervise maintenance personnel to ensure
efficiency and available manpower utilization and make sure personnel adhere to
procedural policy of the Colgan Air GMM.
- Perform on-the-job technical
training on aircraft maintenance practices, company policies, safety procedures,
whenever and wherever required to satisfy OJT requirements.
- Ensure sufficient
authorized and qualified personnel are available to perform maintenance functions.
- Possess an FAA Airman Certificate with Airframe & Powerplant ratings.
- Establish and monitor a program to ensure ground support equipment is
maintained in a safe and serviceable operating condition.
- Administer
the company personnel policies as stated in the company personnel handbook towards
all company maintenance personnel.
- Ensure line station personnel
receive technical and procedural training to ensure their ability to properly
perform their assigned duties to the extent that the quality of work produces
airworthy aircraft.
- Ensure pieces of line stations calibrated equipment
are maintained, tracked, and kept serviceable.
- Maintain all line station
manuals utilized by Colgan Air Maintenance Department.
- Responsible for
the day-to-day and long-range requirements of parts and inventory control at all
line stations, and monitor inventory levels and react as necessary to maintain
company prescribed levels.
- Maintain base component shop and monitor repair
work orders.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Director
of Maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three years experience in aircraft maintenance.
- One year experience in a supervisory capacity maintaining the same category
and class of aircraft as the Company uses.
- Knowledge of CFRs, aviation
safety standards, safe operating practices, and Operations Specifications.

One year experience in a position responsible for returning airplanes to service.
